Message from the Principal

Dear Students!

İKÜTÜMER is one of the leading institutions that use the latest technologies in teaching Turkish in accordance with the necessities of our times.

The faculty members of İKÜTÜMER are graduates of departments of Turkish Language and Literature, Philology and Language Teaching. The faculty members are also experts in their fields, who have academic careers at İstanbul Kültür University and other universities.

At İKÜTÜMER, A1, A2, B1, B2, and C1 level courses are given. With the certificates you will receive at the end of the 8-month Turkish course in both preparatory classes and the fall-spring semester classes, you can study at our University and other institutions.

There is a proverb in Turkish that says “Bir dil bir insan, iki dil iki insan”, meaning a person who knows one language is merely one person, but a person who speaks two languages is worth two people. Therefore, the more languages you learn, the more you have a place in society. The best way to learn a language is to learn it through experience in the country where that language is spoken with the help of a specialist who is a native speaker.

In the Turkish Teaching at İKÜTÜMER, equal importance is given to the four basic language skills (reading, listening, speaking and writing). Teaching activities are supported with projectors and high-speed internet connection in each class. Course levels are planned according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

The Turkish classes of İKÜTÜMER are held at the University campus. Therefore, our students improve their Turkish by practicing with their Turkish friends and they also get to know Turkish culture. In addition to the social and scientific activities carried out by our University, they also have the opportunity to see the historical and touristic places of our country and our beautiful İstanbul by participating in all kinds of social activities and excursions organized by IKÜTÜMER and the International Student Unit.

Don’t forget, language is learned through experience.

Best regards,
Assistant Professor Emre Berkan Yeni
